Morro de São Paulo and its surroundings have many tourist attractions to offer, going beyond the splendid 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th beaches and the village itself. Therefore, the Sailor decided to inform them about the beauties of the municipality of Cairu, where our destination is located.

Cairu covers the Ilha de Tinharé, where MSP and its surroundings are located, and 25 other islands, including the Ilha de Boipeba, which we will see later. Classified as an archipelago municipality, one of the only ones in the country, it has a population of 18,427 inhabitants and 200,000 annual visitors. In the lower-south of Bahia, it promotes encounters between Rio and the sea.

Gamboa do Morro

Little explored, the other tourist attractions deserve to be highlighted. The first of them is Praia da Gamboa. Close to Morro, we can reach it with daily boats that take an average of 15 minutes and cost between 4 and 12 reais, depending on the day of the week, or with a walk at low tide. The beach is known for its revitalizing natural clay bath, found on a cliff accessible to everyone. However, it has crystal clear and warm waters, as well as stunning landscapes.

Full of seaside restaurants, Gamboa do Morro has great services and prices, calm sea bathing and no currents. An ideal place for a family outing.

  • Garapuá

Secondly, another place with a prominent position is Garapuá. It certainly has stunning beauty and good references. Also on the Island of Tinharé, further south of Morro. Furthermore, it has natural pools and beaches full of coconut trees. Certainly its nickname “Praia do Encanto” is not unfounded.

    Boipeba

Finally, the Island of Boipeba is separated from the Island of Tinharé by a river, but this does not prevent the appreciation of the place. Primarily, from North to South of the island we have: Boca Da Barra beach, transition between River and Sea, Tassimirim Beach, with crystal clear waters, and as visiting points the QuebraCu Viewpoint, with a view from above inside the island, the Church of Divino Espírito Santo de Boipeba and the Museum of Bones, a collection of the bones of some marine animals.
